Arab cuisine in Moorish alleyways, Mexican food with 4.9 stars, village tapas and terraces with Mediterranean views. The best restaurants in the old town.
Mojácar Pueblo has far fewer restaurants than the beach, but some are among the highest-rated in the whole municipality. Calima and La Muralla have been old-town institutions for years. Apapacho and La Toscana del Mar are newer and have risen very quickly.
My recommendation: for a special evening, La Toscana del Mar or La Candela. For something genuinely different, Apapacho. To feel like a local, the Habanero on Sundays for the paella tapa.
The most-reviewed restaurant in the village. Lamb tagines, couscous, chicken pastilla and briwat. Finish with Moroccan mint tea and homemade sweets. Intimate atmosphere, traditional décor, attentive service.
The best score in the whole area. Authentic Mexican food in a casual, distinctive setting: tacos, burritos and specialities made with fresh produce. A place that surprises and keeps people coming back.
One of the highest-rated in the municipality. Italian and Mediterranean cuisine in an elegant space with vaulted ceilings. Thoughtful menu, fresh produce and an atmosphere that invites lingering.
The old town classics. Terraces among the walls, views over the Mediterranean and cuisine with more history than the buildings that surround them.
Season note: Mojácar Pueblo has few restaurants open outside July–September. If visiting in autumn or winter, always check opening times first. In summer, spots with terraces fill up between 21:00 and 22:30 — book ahead or arrive early.
Artisan pizzas and pasta beside the ancient village walls. Set lunch from €14.50. Very popular with locals and visitors who return year after year. Charming terrace. ⚠️ Closes in autumn.

The most authentic bar in the village. Homemade tapas at bar prices and the Sunday paella tapa as a local ritual. No waiting lists, no reservations, no pretension. This is how Mojácar eats when there are no tourists.
